Dear Golf Members, We want to thank everyone for their support of the 2026 Ocala Open. This year’s event raised $102,000, split between Hospice of Marion County and Interfaith Emergency Services. This would not be possible without the support of our partners, residents, and volunteers alike. Blake Dyer won his first Ocala Open with a three-round total of -19 and the first-place prize of $15,000. We also want to inform all members that a $25 fee will now be applied to any returned monthly payment. This policy update ensures we can recover the administrative expenses associated with returned transactions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Lastly, with aerification in full swing and course closure rotations about to begin, this is a great time to discuss aerification. Although you may only see the effects on the surface, aerification reaches deep into the soil profile and provides several benefits for years to come. By mechanically removing organic matter, we can provide additional pore space for oxygen, nutrients, water, and provide an area for new roots to grow. Aerification can significantly improve drainage, especially during the summer rainy season. In Florida, the slower golfing season coincides with the warmer growing season, which allows the turf to recover quickly, reducing the impact on golfers for the remainder of the year. Thanks, Matt Hibbs, PGA |
