On Top of the World and Candler Hills Golf Clubs

Dear Golf Members,

I would like to officially announce, Trey Rath as the new Assistant Golf Professional at Candler Hills Golf Club. Trey was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and has been playing golf his whole life. Trey attended Xavier University as a member of the men’s golf team while studying sports management. He moved to Ocala in the spring of 2021 and immediately began working at Candler Hills Golf Club in the golf shop while also playing professional events. Throughout his high school and college career, he has had a wide variety of jobs in the golf business that include golf course caddie, golf cart attendant, golf shop attendant and has been involved with operating different junior golf tours in the Midwest. Trey states, “I am extremely excited to be moving into a new role at Candler Hills Golf Club and am looking forward to getting to know our members better and becoming more involved with member events and the overall golf operation.” Trey recently enrolled in the PGA Associate Program and is looking forward to gaining additional knowledge to help our membership as well as assisting them reach their full potential on the golf course. Please give Trey a big congratulations next time you see him.

Wednesday, May 24th Candler Hills Golf Club will be hosting a XXIO Demo Day from 11am to 3pm. XXIO is renowned for being remarkably lightweight and dedicated to moderate swing speed golfers. Call the Candler Hills Golf Shop to book your appointment. (352)861-9712

Reminder to all golfers to post all away scores to GHIN when playing golf courses outside of On Top of the World Communities. If you go north for the summer please post all scores so your index can remain up to date.

Lastly, I would like everyone to familiarize yourself with the rules of golf and in specific rule 4.3(a2), which discusses gathering information on wind and other weather conditions. Make sure you are not using anything that is not allowed, which states:

Measuring wind speed at the course, or
Using an artificial object to get other wind-related information (such as using powder, a handkerchief or a ribbon to assess wind direction).
